My interest in science education focuses on identifying and addressing academic and non-academic challenges that non-traditional STEM college students and minorities deal with through their undergraduate careers. Since my arrival to UC Davis, I have been working on developing seminar courses to aid transfer students as they enter our college; developing CURE courses with a focus on their impact on STEM minorities and non-science freshman and transfer students and also exploring how instructor activities and language in the context of science courses can affect student's self-efficacy, science identity and science literacy.
