Biography

My research program investigates the use of exploratory writing in large enrollment biochemistry courses and methods of assessing and improving biochemistry problem solving for undergraduates. I am also working on a graduate training program in discipline based pedagogy.  I have both completed and facilitated the HHMI Summer Institute on Scientific Teaching. I am a mentor in the UC Davis Graduate Student of Color Mentorship Program and a mentor for career development of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the Frontiers of University Training to Unlock the Research Enterprise (FUTURE) Program at UC Davis.
