Biography

My teaching brings genomics and bioinformatics into the undergraduate curriculum, and I am interested in how this impacts student learning, career choices, and life-long scientific literacy. My current research examines different ways of prompting students to explore the relevancy of course materials beyond the classroom. I am also developing CUREs for undergraduate laboratory classes to broaden opportunities for undergraduate research.
